Before Team India’s three-game ODI series against South Africa, it was revealed that Rahul Dravid normal coaching staff will not be present. This is a significant development for the team. There have been several changes to the teams due to the presence of over 75 players in South Africa for the multi-format series, as well as changes to the coaching staff.
This isn’t the first time that former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman has stood in for Rahul Dravid when he’s not available. It’s important to note that Dravid’s staff will be in charge of the three-day match that will take place in Pretoria from December 20 to 22, which is scheduled to take place before the Test series, rather than coaching India in the ODI series.
Leading the coaching team for the three-match ODI series will be National Cricket Academy (NCA) personnel Sitanshu Kotak. Ajay Ratra will teach fielding in the ODI series, while NCA member Rajib Dutta will coach bowling. This is according to many reports.
Dravid’s side is getting ready to start the World Test Championship tournament strong by concentrating entirely on the longest format. The SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium in Centurion will host the first Test starting on December 26.
India hopes to bounce back from the T20I series defeat.
After drawing the T20I series, Team India would be eager to play well in the next games. The match started with the first Twenty20 International called off due to inclement weather.
The Proteas won well in the second Twenty20 International. The Men in Blue were in a bit of a bind and needed to win the third Twenty20 International to even the series. The team captained by Suryakumar Yadav pulled off an enormous victory over the hosts.
But the team will also want to get better in the two Test matches and the ODI series. It should be noted that Rohit Sharma will captain India for the Test matches, while KL Rahul will lead the team in the One-Day Internationals.
