At the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua, on Saturday, June 22, during India’s recent T20 World Cup 2024 match against Bangladesh, Virat Kohli was visibly irritated with Rishabh Pant’s departure. India had a difficult start when they batted first, but after Pant’s knock, things appeared to be picking up.
With Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav out of the game quickly, the outstanding wicketkeeper batsman amassed 36 runs in 24 deliveries and appeared to be in position at the crease. But in an attempt to reverse sweep Bangladesh legspinner Rishad Hossain, Pant was removed after giving up a simple catch at short third man. When Kohli expressed his frustration in the dug out, it quickly went viral on social media. Amidst the innings break, the 35-year-old was then observed engaging in a lengthy conversation with Pant.
It is noteworthy that in India’s previous match against Afghanistan in Bridgetown, Pant was removed in a similar fashion. The southpaw attempted a reverse sweep but was unsuccessful, allowing Rashid Khan to send him packing with an LBW after he had scored 20 runs in 11 deliveries. Pant contested the ruling, but the review was unable to keep him alive.

India will next play Australia.
After a perfect group stage performance, India, captained by Rohit Sharma, is undefeated in the T20 World Cup 2024. Thus far in the Super Eight stage, India has faced Bangladesh and Afghanistan and won both matches handily.
Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya bowled brilliantly against Bangladesh, limiting them to only 146 runs while chasing 196, as India won by 50 runs. On June 24, the Men in Blue will play their next match at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St. Lucia, against their bitter rivals, Australia.
