Nitish Rana is looking forward to the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League with the hopes of attracting the notice of the selectors, and he is resolved to provide his absolute best effort.
Nitish Rana, a batter with the Kolkata Knight Riders, debuted for India in July of the previous year, while the team was on tour in Sri Lanka. The southpaw scored seven runs in the one and only ODI innings he played in, while he totaled fifteen runs over two T20I innings. Rana did not receive a second national call-up despite his promising start in international cricket; yet, the player is confident about his chances of being recalled to the national team. Rana stated that he will improve his performance in order to qualify for a spot on the national squad, and he acknowledged that he could have done a better job on his first opportunity.
Rana is looking forward to the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League in the hopes of attracting the notice of the selectors, and he is resolved to provide his best effort.
“As a cricket player, of course I would have liked to have had another opportunity, but I do not want to make any excuses for my performance because it was not very good. My goal for the upcoming Indian Premier League season is to hit at least 500 runs, which will make it impossible for the selectors to overlook me. I am striving to get better at giving strong performances and scoring runs, which are both things that are within my control on the field. I’m shooting for a higher batting average this year. But I can only do the best I can under the circumstances; that is all I can ask of myself. I will always give my absolute best effort wherever I play, and I shall play my best “In an interview with India Today, Rana made the following statement.
During the Indian Premier League 2022, Rana amassed 361 runs at an average of 27.77, but he is under the impression that he needs to improve his performance in order to be selected for the Indian team. However, he stated that in addition to that, he will work on improving his performance in domestic cricket.
“If, after completing 400 runs, people are still choosing other runners over me, then I need to complete 600 runs, and I realise that now. The fate of the future rests in my hands, and I am actively striving to secure it “Rana remarked.
“I don’t really have any goals in mind at the moment. I want to score more runs in the domestic season, and then in the IPL season, and the things that I’ve been seeking for a few years now will finally come to me, but first I want to score more runs in the domestic season “he added.
