Kerala revealed their starting lineup for the Ranji Trophy. In lieu of normal captain Sanju Samson, who will miss the opening game owing to national duty, Sachin Baby was named the team’s captain. In the first-ever Kerala Cricket League T20, Sachin Baby was outstanding and led Kollam Sailors to victory.
Now, starting on October 11, Baby will lead Kerala against Punjab in the Ranji Trophy season opening at Thumba in Thiruvananthapuram. Notably, Sanju Samson was expected to captain Kerala, but he will be playing for his country in the forthcoming Twenty20 International Series against Bangladesh.
In addition, Kerala will have guest players for the season in the form of Aditya Sarwate and Baba Aparajith, as they look to start the competition strongly.
Sanju Samson will probably be busy till October 12.
Sanju Samson, the regular captain of Kerala, is not present because the star batsman has been called up to represent India in the forthcoming T20I series against Bangladesh. It’s important to remember that India just won a two-game Test series against Bangladesh.
Now, both parties will turn their attention to the condensed format. Three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) between India and Bangladesh are scheduled for October 6, 9, and 12 in Gwalior, Delhi, and Hyderabad.
