Once again, veteran batsman Mayank Agarwal has been chosen as the team’s captain for the 16-member Ranji Trophy 2024–25 squad, which has been released by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). Karnataka, one of the most successful teams in India’s top domestic league, hasn’t been able to step up and win the trophy recently; their previous victory came ten years ago in the 2014–15 campaign. In an effort to turn things around, a nice mix of youthful and seasoned sportsmen has been selected.
In addition to Agarwal, the team’s well-known members are Manish Pandey, Shreyas Gopal, Devdutt Padikkal, and Prasidh Krishna. The state’s front-runners in the bowling department will be Vijaykumar Vyshak, Vasuki Kaushik, and Vidyadhar Patil. The two wicketkeepers named by the KSCA are Luvnith Sisodia and Sujay Sateri. Nevertheless, Samit Dravid, the renowned batter Rahul Dravid’s son, was not picked.
