Karachi plays host to a merry Christmas celebration for players from New Zealand

On Sunday, December 25, people all across the world gathered together to honour the holy day of Christmas. People make sure to have a good time at this festive event by doing things like decorating their homes, receiving gifts, and eating an abundance of excellent food and sweets. In a similar vein, the New Zealand cricket team, which is now touring Pakistan, could not pass up the opportunity to celebrate Christmas while they were there. Of Karachi, where the tourists enjoyed Christmas on the night of the opening match in the series, the two sides are currently competing against one another in the first Test of the three-match series.

In a video that was uploaded to the Blackcaps Instagram account, New Zealand players could be seen celebrating Christmas with a meal in Karachi.

Others who were seen enjoying the festivities were the recently appointed skipper Tim Southee, Kane Williamson, Ajaz Patel, and Ish Sodhi. These individuals were seen against the backdrop of a gorgeous decoration.

In the first Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand, which took place on Monday in Karachi, Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bat first.

After suffering their first-ever 3-0 whitewash at home in the previous match, the host team decided to shake things up by making three substitutions for this match against England, which took place at the same site as the previous match.

While Sarfaraz Ahmed is participating in his first Test match since January 2019, Mir Hamza is making his first appearance in a Test match in almost four years. After recovering from an injury, opener Imam-ul-Haq has returned to the team.
