Champions Trophy 2025 is slated to start in February, and Pakistan is getting ready to host an ICC event for the first time since 1996. Pakistan is scheduled to host Test series against West Indies, England, and Bangladesh prior to the main event. The second Test match against Bangladesh is under cloud because of the global event preparations, which will prevent spectators from seeing the teams play.
In advance of the Champions Trophy, work is being done on Karachi’s National Stadium.
The National Stadium’s second Test, which was supposed to take place from August 30 to September 3, witnessed the immediate suspension of ticket sales. The Pakistan Cricket Board has pledged to reimburse supporters who have already paid for their tickets.
“After carefully weighing all of the possibilities, we have determined that holding the second Test in front of an empty stadium is the safest course of action. The payment would be automatically reimbursed to the account details supplied at the time of purchase for fans who have already purchased tickets, according to PCB, who was cited by NDTV Sports.
The goal of the continuing stadium improvements is to improve the experience for our valued supporters, and we sincerely apologise for any disruption this may have caused. The statement said, “We are committed to improving spectator appeal and getting the site ready for the Champions Trophy, which includes the improvements.
Bangladesh starts their extensive trip across the subcontinent.
On August 21, Bangladesh will play Pakistan in the first Test in Rawalpindi, and on August 22, in Karachi, the second Test.
