In his 92nd Test, Williamson needed four more runs to beat Taylor, and he did so in the first over of the day. He hit James Anderson’s delivery over mid-on. The crowd applauded Williamson. Williamson acknowledged with a cool bat raise.
Williamson scored 7787 Test runs. As England asked New Zealand to follow-on, his innings helped the Kiwis gain a lead. By winning the Wellington Test, New Zealand hopes to regain some pride.
The series was tough for the right-handed batsman. He’ll get his mojo back with this accomplishment.
