Ireland fast bowler Joshua Little won’t be able to go on the upcoming tours to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka because he has to work for his franchise.

Sunday, Ireland’s captain, Andrew Balbirnie, told Cricbuzz about the news. He also said that he expects Little to be ready for the Super League games against Bangladesh in Ireland in May.

Josh is currently playing for Pretoria Capitals in the SA20. He has also been picked up by Multan Sultan for the next Pakistan Super League and by Gujarat Titans for the next Indian Premier League.

Balbirnie, who is playing for Khulna Tigers in the Bangladesh Premier League, told Cricbuzz, “Josh had an amazing 12 to 18 months, and that’s shown by the fact that he was picked up in the South African League, the IPL, and the PSL. These opportunities are amazing.”

“He’s going to be missed” (Josh). He won’t be coming here to play in the Bangladesh tour, and he won’t be going to Sri Lanka for the Test tour. Instead, he’ll be back in May to play in Super League games against Bangladesh.

“The chance to play in the IPL is too good for him to pass up, and I think the exposure will help Irish cricket. If he does well in the IPL or PSL, people will think that Ireland cricket must be headed in the right direction. We hope the best for him, and I saw him on TV last night,” he said.

Ireland’s upcoming tour of Bangladesh will start with three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. At the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Ireland is also set to play three T20Is. The series will end with a single Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, which will be played by the visitors.

The three ODIs are set to take place in SICS on March 18, 20, and 23. This is what the board’s draught schedule says. After the ODIs, the T20Is will likely happen on March 27, 29, and 31. The Test match will take place between April 4 and April 8. After their tour of Bangladesh, Ireland will go to Sri Lanka in April to play one Test and two One-Day Internationals (ODIs).
