MI Cape Town made the announcement on Wednesday that England fast bowler Jofra Archer will be joining them as a wildcard signing for the inaugural season of the South African Twenty20 competition, which will begin in January of next year.
Since March of 2021, Archer has not participated in any international matches of cricket because to an ongoing problem with his elbow, which was then followed by a stress fracture in his lower back.
On Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, he made his competitive comeback for the England Lions in a match against the primary England team.
In spite of the fact that the franchise knew Jofra Archer would not be available, they nonetheless paid Rs. 8 crore to acquire his services during the most recent IPL auction. He will continue to serve in that capacity through the 2023 campaign.
Both the Indian Premier League franchise MI and the South African Twenty20 squad MI Cape Town are owned by the same organisation.
