Joey Evison is brought in by Kent from Nottinghamshire

All-around athlete signs a three-year contract and joins on loan for the Royal London Cup.

Former England Under-19 all-rounder from Nottinghamshire has signed a three-year deal with Kent. Additionally, he will join the team on loan for the 2014 Royal London Cup.

Evison, 20, made his Notts debut in 2019 and since then played in 10 first-class matches, five List A matches, and one T20 match. This season, he scored his first-ever first-class hundred, although the rise of fellow seam-bowling all-rounder Lyndon James has limited his opportunities.

Having claimed his first five wickets against Durham last summer, Evison presently averages 27.13 also with bat and 30.19 with the ball in first class cricket.

Evison declared, “I couldn’t be more thrilled to join Kent Cricket.” “I know I’m still young, but I’m eager for first team cricket and really hope I’ll be capable of accomplishing this at Canterbury, in addition assisting the squad to success in the coming years,” said the player.

The signing might mark the beginning of Kent’s rebuilding process after seamer Matt Milnes signed with Yorkshire on Friday. Kent will now need to start planning for life without Darren Stevens, an all-around player who is 46 years old and has just made seven first-team appearances this season.
