In the one-off Test match between India and England at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, Jemimah Rodrigues shared her thoughts on both her Test debut and India’s historic 347-run victory.
The 23-year-old said that the win was very meaningful to her and gave her teammates credit for their roles in helping the squad succeed. Afterwards, she thanked Smriti Mandhana, referring to her as her “big sister,” for giving her her first test cap.
While sharing a picture of himself with Mandhana on Instagram, Jemimah Rodrigues wrote a sweet message. “I want more if this is the experience of playing test cricket! What made this victory so exceptional was the input of each and every participant. It’s even more memorable because my big sister gave me my first cap. She wrote in the caption, “PS: I put a lot of pressure on @smriti_mandhana the day before to deliver a good speech and I, after receiving my cap, realized she’s really good under pressure.”
