The Sussex County Cricket Club has extended the contract of Indian left-arm fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat till 2026. When Unadkat first wore the club’s colors in 2023, he bonded with the group. In just three games during his rookie season, he collected 15 wickets. The Indian pacer’s 2024 performance was even better, as he was instrumental in Sussex’s Division Two title win. Unadkat took 22 wickets at an average of 14.40 in five games.
“Last year, when I arrived in Hove, I had no idea what the County Championship offered or how I would adjust to it. Unadkat was cited as stating in a team release, “But after a few games now, I can definitely say Hove is my home away from home and Good Old Sussex by the Sea has my heart.”

Paul Farbrace, the head coach of Sussex, had similar sentiments and talked about Unadkat’s abilities both on and off the field.
“Jaydev [Unadkat] has signed a two-year agreement and will be rejoining the Club for the upcoming two seasons, which has everyone at Hove extremely happy and enthusiastic. Paul Farbrace, the head coach of Sussex, stated, “Jaydev is one of the most well-liked and kindest individuals any team could want for. His skill on the field has been so clear for everyone else to observe.

Unadkat will now be available for the 2025 and 2026 County Championship seasons’ final run-in thanks to the extension. In domestic cricket in India, he is not only captain of the Saurashtra team but also represents Sussex.
