Jasprit Bumrah demonstrated to the world why his ability to win matches is underappreciated. In the T20 World Cup 2024, he was at his most lethal and took home the Player of the Tournament title for his exploits. Days following India’s championship victory, Bumrah’s childhood neighbour and journalist Deepal Trivedi revealed the heartbreaking tales of the pacer’s formative years. The 30-year-old has shared further details about the phase after the story went viral on social media.
The right-arm pacer recently disclosed that his father’s early death, when he was in the second grade, had a profound impact on his life. Providing clarification on the matter, Trivedi had earlier disclosed that the little child and sibling Juhika Bumrah were placed in her care while their mother was busy. She went on to say that when eating a full meal became a constraint, youngsters had to fight for biscuits. Going beyond the specifics of the phase, Bumrah only indicated that money problems were the cause for anxiety.
As previously said, my sister passed away in the fourth grade and I was in the second. Then, when life abruptly altered, our family grew very close. We also experienced some financial problems. Thus, my mother began working,” Bumrah stated, as cited by The Times of India.
We experienced many highs and lows as a family, which led to our closeness becoming the norm. But that relationship has only gotten stronger since then. And that has just increased over time,” he continued.

In her lengthy essay, Trivedi also described how the Ahmedabad pacer was in dire need of a windcheater, so she provided one for him, reducing her own demands. She also shared the story of Daljit Bumrah, the famous Indian pacer’s mother, who worked over 16 hours a day to support her family and fulfil her kids’ goals. Bumrah’s appearance is taken care of during photo shoots by Juhika, a makeup artist, and the pacer stated that they do not wish to alter who they are.

“She (Bumrah’s sister) is obviously in the makeup business now. These days, when we shoot, she applies my makeup. However, our family is quite tight and we talk about happy and bad days. Given that we have experienced both highs and lows, we don’t want to drastically alter who we are,” he said.
