After taking a little break from the Asia Cup to attend the birth of his first kid, Jasprit Bumrah has reconnected with the Indian team. Prior to India’s Super Four match against Pakistan in the capital city, scheduled for September 10, with a reserve day in place the next day, he took a flight from Mumbai and arrived in Colombo in the early hours of September 8.
Jasprit Bumrah missed India’s second group match against Nepal on September 4 and was replaced by Mohammed Shami in the starting lineup.
Bumrah had rushed back home to take care of his father following India’s group stage match against Pakistan on September 2 in Pallekele, which ended in a loss due to constant rain at the stadium.
The pacer will participate in India’s practice at the R Premadasa Stadium on Friday night. The squad is anticipated to practice indoors due to the weather forecast, which predicts rain for the day.
