Travis Head praised Jasprit Bumrah, the star bowler for India, in front of the next Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–25. The Australia international praised him as the “X-Factor” and said that Bumrah is great in all game formats. With 173 wickets in 40 games at an outstanding average of 20.57 so far, the 30-year-old has been a crucial element of India’s bowling assault, especially in Test cricket.
He has taken 32 wickets at an average of 21.25 in seven Test matches played in Australia, which is also incredible. The speedster will also captain India in Perth while Rohit Sharma is away. In order to fulfil his parental responsibilities, the top batter chose to skip the game. He will return for India’s second Test match against the hosts in Adelaide. Before that, Head complimented Bumrah profusely, saying that the pacer constantly stays one step ahead of the batsmen.
“Impossible” (with Bumrah facing). Even when you make an effort to stay ahead of the game, he always seems like the next step. He’s amazing in any kind of game. They always turn to him because he’s their X-factor and can usually produce for them. As a batter, you have your hands full. It would be challenging to deal with him during the summer, Head said Fox Cricket.
Sharing his experience of dealing with Jasprit Bumrah, Usman Khawaja
Australia’s opener, Usman Khawaja, talked about his first-time experience playing Bumrah. He said he didn’t anticipate that the pacemaker could provide additional pace because of his actions. He also made a comparison between Mitchell Johnson’s and Bumrah’s actions.
“Oh, where did that come from?” was my initial reaction when I first encountered Bumrah. His action and ball release are a little unorthodox, so it comes at you a little faster than you anticipate. Like Mitchell Johnson, he had a peculiar behaviour.

Because you couldn’t see the ball all the way, it used to come out and feel like it reached you faster. “Jasprit is somewhat similar, with weapons everywhere,” Khawaja remarked.
