In the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024–25, Mitchell Starc, an Australian fast bowling virtuoso, gave India’s standout pacer Jasprit Bumrah high marks. Bumrah is expected to command the side in the first Test match at Perth on November 22nd, while regular captain Rohit Sharma is on paternity leave.
Bumrah is accustomed to the conditions and has already taken 32 wickets in 7 games on his prior trips to Australia. Bumrah has an amazing skill set, according to Starc.
When speaking to Triple M Cricket, Starc stated, “Jasprit Bumrah’s execution skill right now is probably the best across all formats.”
Another Australian player, Travis Head, has also praised Bumrah’s remarkable bowling ability. For India, Bumrah is a weapon who can win games on his own and is more than just a bowler.
It constantly feels like he’s the next step, even when you want to feel like you’re one step ahead. He’s amazing in any game format. He’s, in my opinion, their biggest player, and you want big players in big occasions. Speaking to Fox Cricket, Head stated, “As a batter, you have your work cut out for you.”
The most important thing in every situation is self-belief: Jasprit Bumrah
Even Bumrah himself stays focused and grounded. He stressed the value of preparation and self-belief in an interview with 7 Cricket.
“Under any circumstance, self-belief is crucial. That’s what we’re counting on, and our team is talking about it. “You’ll be in a great position and everything else will fall into place when you concentrate on yourself and your preparation,” the pacer added.
