Before India’s (IND) forthcoming T20 World Cup 2024 match against the United States of America (USA) in New York, star pacer Jasprit Bumrah visited Dallas Cowboys backliner Micah Parson. The two legendary sportsmen traded jerseys and gave each other a go at their respective games.
The National Football League (NFL), one of the most popular sports leagues in the world, shared a photo of Micah attempting to bowl and bat while Bumrah played some football with the legendary player. The 25-year-old received some cricket advice from the Indian pacer, who was also visible in the photos.
“Aiming for six!” Football Superstar @jaspritb1 and cricket legend @_micahparsons11 got together to play each other’s sports,” the NFL posted as the caption for their Instagram image.
The West Indies and the United States of America are co-hosting the T20 World Cup, and this wasn’t the first time that cricket and the NFL had interacted. Previously, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was met by BCCI secretary Jay Shah during a visit to the NFL’s New York offices. Shah displayed an American football helmet with the Indian flag on the back and the Team India symbol on it.
The movie also showed off the Indian shirt that the Men in Blue wore during the World Cup, which had Goodell’s name and the number “10” on it.

Although Team India is the clear favourite going into their match against the USA on Wednesday, June 12 at the Nassau Cricket Stadium, they should be mindful of the toughness the Monank Patel-led team has displayed thus far in the competition.
After victories over Ireland and Pakistan, Rohit Sharma and company enter this match with momentum. In the meantime, the USA had won both of its previous two games against Canada and Pakistan. The squad that triumphs on Wednesday will advance to the tournament’s Super Eight round.
