Stallions defeated Dolphins by a massive 174 runs at Faisalabad thanks to Babar Azam’s unbeaten 104 off 100 balls and Jahandad Khan’s three wickets with the new ball. This was Dolphins’ third loss in three games. As a result of the outcome, the teams batting first have now won each of the tournament’s first seven games.
Stallions chose to bat, and Yasir Khan and Shan Masood opened the score at 76 for 13 overs. With Masood’s wicket, Faheem Ashraf broke the tie and slowed the pace of scoring. Soon after, Yasir too failed, but Babar Azam performed the role of the anchor flawlessly. He and Tayyab Tahir put up 57 runs for the third wicket, guiding the team to 150 in the thirty-first over.
Throughout the match, the Dolphins deployed six bowlers, and each of them claimed a wicket, but Babar held his ground. He was on 50 off 65 balls at the end of 40 overs. With three fours and three sixes in the final 10 overs, he blasted 54 off 35 to take Stallions to 271 for 7.
Early in the pursuit, Jahandad Khan dashed Dolphins’ hopes that they would break their duck.
He managed to get Muhammad Hurraira caught behind for a duck with the opening delivery of the innings. To make it 15 for 2, he trapped Umar Amin leg before wicket in his third over.
After hitting five fours in the next twenty balls with Sahibzada Farhan and Saud Shakeel, Jahandad struck again, this time tidying up Shakeel.
The Dolphins were left struggling for breath when Haris Rauf quickly removed Sarfaraz Ahmed and Qasim Akram in the span of three balls. From sixty to five, there was no resistance.
