The second and final test match between India and Bangladesh will begin on December 22 in Mirpur, and it is anticipated that India’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, will be available for that match.
According to sources close to ANI, Rohit has checked into a rehabilitation facility and is expected to make a full recovery in time for the second test match. He will then travel to Bangladesh to participate in the match.
Due to a thumb injury he suffered in the second one-day international against Bangladesh, Rohit was unable to play in the third and final one-day international as well as the first test match.
After a special consultation in Mumbai, the medical team was able to determine that this persistent injury was keeping him out of action, and it even forced him to miss the first Test against Bangladesh, which began on December 14th. This news came as a result of the special consultation that took place in Mumbai.
In his absence, the Indian Test team was headed by KL Rahul, while the spot he vacated in the squad was taken by the uncapped batter Abhimanyu Easwaran. Easwaran, who is 27 years old and has appeared in 78 first-class matches so far, has scored 5576 runs while averaging 45.33.
Not only Rohit Sharma, but also many other talented cricketers like Jasprit Bumrah (back), Mohammad Shami (shoulder), and Ravindra Jadeja were not selected for the Indian team (knee).
Because these elite players were unable to recover in time, they will not be able to participate in either of the tests.
These players will be replaced by Navdeep Saini and Saurabh Kumar, who have been given that responsibility. In addition, the fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat has been selected to be part of India’s 17-man team.
