India’s limited overs tour of New Zealand has added Munish Bali as fielding coach to the support staff led by VVS Laxman.
In the wake of the T20 World Cup, Rahul Dravid and his coaching team have been allowed some time off, therefore Laxman will be leading the tour as its head coach, starting on November 18 in Wellington. India will compete in three Twenty20 matches and the same number of One Day Internationals.
In New Zealand, the team will be backed by coaches including Munish Bali Hrishikesh Kanitkar (batting coach) and Sairaj Bahutule (bowling coach). At the National Cricket Academy, which Laxman directs, all three trainers have offices.
Before India’s home series against South Africa, Bali was a part of the team that toured Ireland and, for a short time, England.
According to a BCCI representative, “all three will assist Laxman in New Zealand.”
