Many are curious as to why KL Rahul was left out of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) lineup for their next IPL 2024 encounter against the Delhi Capitals, which is scheduled to take place in Delhi.
The captain’s unusual travel arrangements have drawn criticism, despite rumours that he may play directly for them. This is especially true in light of their recent 10-wicket loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad, who reached the 166-run goal in just 9.4 overs. The LSG club owner, Sanjiv Goenka, was observed having a lively conversation with KL Rahul near the dugout after the game, which sparked discussions regarding his leadership responsibilities.
To stay in the competition, LSG must defeat the Delhi Capitals, with their chances of making the playoffs hanging in the balance. With 12 points, they are now in seventh place, and getting into the playoffs will not be easy. All eyes are on Rahul and the LSG team to turn things around as they prepare for this crucial match.
KL Rahul performance has been closely examined this season, though, especially after he was left off of the T20 World Cup roster.
But his batting ability has been excellent the entire IPL 2024 season. The batsman-wicketkeeper has amassed 460 runs at a respectable average of 38.33 and a respectable strike rate of 136.09. Rahul has scored three half-centuries this season despite missing out on a century.

Speaking of the LSG team, they have been a noteworthy addition to the IPL since 2022 and have made it to the playoffs in both of their first two seasons of competition. Marcus Stoinis, Mark Wood, KL Rahul, and Quinton de Kock were among their notable additions. Subsequently, Andy Flower was named head coach and Gautam Gambhir was named team mentor, with Rahul as captain. They were ousted in the playoffs even though they placed third in the group stage in both the 2022 and 2023 campaigns.
