In their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 encounter against Chennai Super Kings at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam, on March 31, Rishabh Pant, captain of the Delhi Capitals, was fined for his team’s sluggish over-rate. Under the IPL’s Code of Conduct regarding minimum over-rate infractions, it was Pant’s team’s first offence of the season, and as such, he was fined Rs 12 lakh.
With Rishabh Pant making a spectacular comeback from injury and leading the Capitals to victory in the opening game of the season with 20 runs, the match between DC and CSK turned out to be an incredible affair. Despite the fact that CSK lost the game after winning the previous two, MS Dhoni’s huge knock reversed the tide, sending the Yellow Army’s supporters home with joy.
When his team was having trouble, Dhoni gave it all he had, hitting four fours and three sixes to score 37 significant runs off just 16 deliveries. But Jadeja didn’t provide him with the necessary encouragement, and CSK lost by 20 runs.

“Today, bowlers have shown clinical behaviour. We’ve grown from the mistakes we made. Shaw has put in a lot of effort at work over the past two weeks. We decided it was time to give him a go, and he did quite well. It may vary from game to game, but it would be fantastic if Mukesh could bowl late.
I have to give it my all since I’m a cricket player. Since I haven’t played cricket for the past 1.5 years, it took some time at first. My entire life, I have relied on this. I’ve always believed in myself and think it’s crucial to get back up if anything happens,” Pant remarked following the game.
