In Match 48 of the IPL 2024, the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are squarely competing in the Ekana Sports City Stadium in Lucknow. In the IPL 2024 points standings, LSG is ranked fifth. MI, who are now in ninth place, on the other hand, appear to be desperate for a victory.
After winning the toss, LSG captain KL Rahul decided to bowl against the Mumbai Indians at their stadium. The batting surfaces at the Ekana Cricket Stadium seem to be better this year than they were last. The average first-inning score this year has topped 170+, as opposed to 161 total for the two seasons prior, including this one. Nine times out of 10, the total has been more than 150, with totals of 170 or more in seven of those nine instances.
Highlight of Match 48: LSG vs. MI, first innings
MI 8-1 in 2 overs for the first wicket
In just 4 runs, LSG’s Mohsin Khan dismissed the hitman Rohit Sharma. Sadly, Khan grabbed the birthday kid when MI were down just 8 runs in two overs, so the boy could not display his class against LSG shortly after hitting a four. Marcus Stoinis expertly caught the short extra cover while he was driving.
0.1 to 6 Powerplay Overs 28/4 MI
MI lost four significant wickets too soon, making it tough for them to muster a respectable run rate in the powerplay overs. In the game’s first six overs, they were only able to score 28 runs. Naveen-ul-Haq of LSG defeated MI’s captain. MI captain Hardik was run out while pleading for LBW thanks to a throw from Ravi Bishnoi. Unfortunately, Pandya had to walk back to the pavilion after receiving his golden duck.

15 overs, Mumbai Indians score 96/5.
Be considerate Despite losing early wickets in their encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants, Nehal Wadhera, MI, managed to hit 96. Mayank Yadav, the top bowler for LSG, gave Nehal Wadhera a few boundaries in his over. Nehal Wadhera made an impressive 46 runs in his innings, but Mohsin Khan of LSG sent him back to the pavilion in his over.

Well played Nehal Wadhera…!!!!
– Nehal continues to impress, one of the biggest mistakes MI, not to play from the start – after doing so well last year, the backbone of Punjab & performing in tough situations for Mumbai in IPL 2024. 👌 pic.twitter.com/qVMjhd1U4N
