In Match 14 of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) on Monday, April 1, at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Rajasthan Royals defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by seven wickets, extending their winning streak in the competition. MI could only manage 125/9 in 20 overs after being allowed to bat first, with skipper Hardik Pandya leading the way with a knock of 34 (21).
In response, Rajasthan reached the mark in 15.3 overs thanks to yet another masterful performance from Riyan Parag, whose half-century kept them afloat during the chase. As a result, MI is now mired at the bottom of the points table following three straight losses, while RR surged to the top with six points from three games.

2. With two strikes, Aakash Madhwal keeps MI in the match.
Madhwal, who dazzled everyone in his initial season, returned to form in the opening match of the 2024 edition, securing MI’s aspirations with three strikes. The right-arm seamer claimed the much sought-after scalps of Ravichandran Ashwin (16 off 16), Jos Buttler (13 off 16), and Sanju Samson (12 off 10). Even though the 30-year-old concluded with figures of 3/20 in four overs, he was unable to save his team from losing.

3. Riyan Parag keeps up his amazing run
With the aid of five fours and three sixes, the 22-year-old maintained his excellent form throughout the season, hitting a spectacular 54* (39) score. In 15.3 overs, Parag led his team over the finish line by taking his time early and then unleashing his beast mode. Along with becoming the co-highest run scorer of the season, he amassed 181 runs from three innings with an average of 181, 160.17, and 181.
