Sunday, May 19, is the penultimate game of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) round-robin phase, which will pit Sunrisers Hyderabad against Punjab Kings. Watching the high-stakes match that would see the Sunrisers upset the Rajasthan Royals and move up to second place in the points chart had the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium packed to capacity.
When the Punjab Kings went away, Jitesh Sharma replaced Sam Curran. Ahead of next month’s T20 World Cup, the England all-rounder has departed the team to join the Three Lions. Jonny Bairstow also brought Curran back to the UK. Jitesh stated that all of the other foreign players have left; therefore, Rilee Rossouw is the only one still in the Kings starting lineup.
The Sunrisers, meanwhile, only made one alteration to their starting lineup when they reinstated the aggressive Rahul Tripathi, who had been benched earlier in the season due to a dry spell. In what is predicted to be a high-scoring match, the visitors chose to bat first after winning the toss.
Before the match, both leaders could be seen chatting during the toss. Pat Cummins, the host captain, remarked, “This season, the fans have been amazing.” Either bat first or ball first, we are positioned rather effectively for both. It looks like a great wicket, but I’m horrible at reading wickets. appears firm and dry. For us, there is just one modification. In for a bowler is Rahul Tripathi.”
“We’d want to bat. We want to score heavily and put pressure on SRH, and I think the wicket is looking fantastic. I am glad and proud to be leading the charge today. Since every overseas position has been taken, we don’t have many possibilities. It’s just going to be Rilee Rossouw. Our young talent is eagerly awaiting their chance, and they will give it their all today. The PBKS captain declared after winning the toss, “We are here to play some good cricket, so we have nothing to lose today.”
