The Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) Final took place on May 26 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Having won the toss, SRH chose to bat first. The SRH top order returned to the hut quickly, and they quickly found themselves reeling in a 6 for 2. After 14 overs, they were 90 for 8, with no other batsman surpassing the 25-run threshold. Pat Cummins contributed a solid final-inning hit of 24 runs, but SRH managed a pitiful 113.
While chasing a manageable goal of 114 in the second over, KKR lost Sunil Narine. However, the pursuit was made to appear easy by Venkatesh Iyer and Rahmanullah Gurbaz. KKR was eliminated after they put up a 92-run partnership for the second wicket. Iyer was excellent, scoring 52 off 36, and KKR won their third IPL title and the Final by an 8-wicket margin.

Abhishek Sharma was the victim of Mitchell Starc’s flaming outburst during the powerplay. As he bowled the fifth delivery of the opening over, Starc trajected inward but nipped away to get past Abhishek’s defence.

2. Taking Bhuvneshwar Kumar to the dry cleaners is Venkatesh Iyer.
Things appeared concerning for the men-in-purple right after KKR lost Sunil Narine. However, as he hit Bhuvneshwar for a boundary and two straight sixes, Venkatesh Iyer defused the tension. That over brought in 20 runs and greatly hurt SRH’s chances.
