The decisive transfer of Hardik Pandya by the Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians was a standout among pre-auction maneuvers.
The largest deal in history between the Gujarat Giants (GG) and Mumbai Indians (MI) took place just prior to the IPL 2024 auction. MI acquired Hardik again for the following IPL season. With all transactions between Mumbai and Gujarat becoming cash-only, Pandya, 30, would receive a salary of Rs 15 crore at MI. Additionally, Pandya will receive 50% of the MI-given unreported transfer to GT.
Hardik’s leadership, which helped Gujarat win an IPL title in their first season and become runners-up the previous year, barely losing out to Chennai Super Kings in the championship game, brought attention to this transaction. The innings ended with a six and four from Ravindra Jadeja off of Mohit Sharma’s last delivery.
