The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023’s 16th season kicked off on March 31 in spectacular fashion, and one of the most well-known teams in the league, Royal Challengers Bangalore, will begin their campaign by taking on the five-time champion Mumbai Indians in the competition’s fifth game.
The team received a pleasant surprise when Indian football legend Sunil Chhetri joined the group to see one of their practices while they were getting ready for the match. But, Chhetri’s magnificent diving catch that won over the players after he took it was the session’s high point.
In a video that soon gained popularity, Chettri was shown making the catch; he was subsequently seen joking around with his close friend and star Indian batter Virat Kohli. Chettri discussed his friendship with Kohli in a video that the RCB released to their YouTube account.
I doubt many people are aware of this, but he is hilarious: Chettri
Speaking of his friendship with Kohli and the talks they have as teammates, Chettri stated, “Either it’s a joke or it’s always about sports. I doubt many people are aware of this, but he is hilarious. I’m not sure whether he would like me stating this, but he is entertaining. Sadly, not many people are aware of this side of him.”
Bangalore will be governed by Faf du Plessis, it should be stated. The star-studded team has failed to win the prized IPL championship despite frequently making it into the tournament’s playoffs over the past three years.
As they take on the five-time champion Mumbai Indians, who had a terrible tournament in the previous edition and finished 10th in the IPL points table, they will aim to start out on the right foot. The team captained by Rohit Sharma will be driven to outperform their results from the last competition.
