The IPL 2023 Players’ Auction will take place in Kochi on December 23, and a total of 991 cricket players, including 714 players from India, have registered to participate.
Out of the 14 countries located outside of the United States, Australia has the most players up for auction with 57, followed by South Africa (52). Afghanistan (23), West Indies (33), England (31), while New Zealand and Sri Lanka each have 27 points (14) The other countries are Ireland (eight), the Netherlands (seven), Bangladesh (six), the United Arab Emirates (six), Zimbabwe (six), Namibia (five), and Scotland (two).”
If each franchise were to have a maximum of 25 players in their roster, there would be 87 players available to be purchased in the auction (of which up to 30 players might be from overseas) “according to the statement that was released by Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI.
On the list of players, there are 185 players with international caps, 786 players without international caps, and 20 players from Associate Nations.
There are 19 Indian players among the capped players.
Twenty players with affiliations to associate nations have submitted their registration forms.
The uncapped players who have previously participated in the Indian Premier League include 91 players from India and 604 players from other countries. There are 604 uncapped Indians on the list, and 88 of them play overseas.
