IPL 2023: A Mumbai Indians supporter takes the team's flag to the 'Top of Europe'

The Indian Premier League has a dedicated supporter base, and the social media buzz surrounding the Twenty20 tournament has been phenomenal. With five titles, the Mumbai Indians (MI), guided by India captain Rohit Sharma, are the most successful IPL franchise. After a disappointing IPL season in 2022, MI are back on course, having won three of their first five matches in IPL 2023.

Rishi Popawala, an ardent supporter of the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing IPL, transported the team’s flag to the Jungfraujoch mountain pass, also known as the “Top of Europe.” Notably, this is the greatest elevation at which the flag of the Mumbai Indians has ever been raised. Popawala shared the news on Twitter by uploading three photos of himself with the team’s flag.

“Today, I have officially set two records: 1. I am the first individual to bring a Mumbai Indians flag to the summit of Switzerland and Europe – Mt. Jungfraujoch 2. This is the highest a Mumbai Indians flag has ever flown, according to a tweet by Popawala. Additionally, MI shared the post and commented, “Our #OneFamily, reaching new heights and making us proud!”
MI defeated SRH in Hyderabad by 14 runs.
After losing their first two matches in the ongoing IPL to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), MI recorded three consecutive victories against the Delhi Capitals (DC), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Cameron Green’s all-round performance and the two-wicket hauls of Jason Behrendorff, Riley Meredith, and Piyush Chawla contributed to MI’s 14-run victory over SRH in their most recent match. Green (64 off 40) produced a half-century as MI posted a competitive 192/5 after being asked to bat.

SRH lost wickets at regular intervals during the pursuit and were bowled out for 178 with one ball remaining. Meanwhile, Arjun Tendulkar claimed his first wicket in the IPL, dismissing Bhuvneshwar Kumar to allow his team to defend in the final over.
