Abdul Razzaq has joined the chorus of former cricket players who have criticized the national squad since they were eliminated from the ODI World Cup. former cricket players have said that Babar Azam should resign as team captain after Pakistan once again failed to advance to the ODI World Cup semi-finals. The supporters are furious.
Under comparable circumstances, the Men in Green were predicted to do well and win the trophy; however, in actuality, the team performed poorly in pivotal games and ended up fifth in the standings. But when they were discussing it, the former cricket player made disparaging remarks about well-known Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai, which caused the internet community to lose their cool.
Abdul Razzaq was shown in a widely shared video challenging the Pakistani team’s intentions and naming the actress as an example.
Indians were even more enraged when Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi, who were standing next to him, finally laughed and applauded.
Did Abdul Razzaq say ‘Aishwarya Rai’ there? 😳#AbdulRazzaq #Razzaq #AishwaryaRai #PakistanCricketTeam https://t.co/LmANV8cQ7j

What a terrible thing to say!
That’s why education and grooming is important. These 3 have travelled the world and yet, something like this is being said by Abdul Razzaq; endorsed by Umar Gull and Shahid Afridi. Very low.
This would hurt Aishwarya, her lovely Bachchan family… pic.twitter.com/IPw3JWhhUd— Basit Subhani (@BasitSubhani) November 13, 2023
Shameful example given by Abdul Razzaq. #AbdulRazzaq #CWC23 pic.twitter.com/AOboOVHoQU

Pakistan’s World Cup performance, however, was lacking, both in terms of batting and bowling. Both Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi were expected to perform well in the main tournament; however, they were both unable to live up to the hype.
Babar Azam was also unable to raise his game and he made some dubious decisions. Numerous sources state that the 29-year-old would be relieved of his captaincy for Pakistan in the next few days due to suspicions that he supported his favorite players.
However, former cricketer Ramiz Raja supported Babar Azam and said Pakistan’s bowlers had failed to live up to expectations in the competition. He recently criticized the PCB officials as well, questioning their goals and the policies that underpin the operation of the institution.
However, Kapil Dev, the 1983 World Cup victor, has also supported Babar Azam and urged the Pakistan Cricket Board to take a reasonable decision moving forward. In the meantime, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi are still the top picks to succeed Babar.
