Everyone has the fundamental right to freedom of speech, and this is especially true in the field of journalism, where it is extremely important. All opinions, nevertheless, ought to be restrained and supportive of a meaningful and productive dialogue amongst participants.
Farid Khan, a well-known journalist from Pakistan, was different. He posted a collage of southpaws from Pakistan and India, Sourav Ganguly and Imam-ul-Haq, respectively, and suddenly started a discussion on X.
That’s what made the scenario really confusing: the caption asked his followers what they thought and got the crowd talking over which of the two batters was better.

As expected, the post drew a lot of criticism from people who interacted with it, as seen by the range of responses in the comments section. The conversation veered between bitterness and generalised ridicule.

One side has the legendary Ganguly, whose remarkable 18,575 runs come from a stellar career that included 424 international matches. With just more than 25% of Ganguly’s total, however, the 28-year-old Imam has not yet established a strong and reliable presence in international cricket.
