Sachin Tendulkar, a legendary cricketer, graced the opening ceremony of the first Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) on January 31. The event’s organizers revealed who the co-owners of the six teams were: Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Suriya, and Ram Charan, in that order, will manage Mumbai, Srinagar, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Bollywood power couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan will be in charge of Kolkata.
Sachin Tendulkar, an investor and member of the ISPL core committee, stressed the value of co-owners to the tournament’s success and reminisced about his time spent playing street cricket in Mumbai.
The co-owners will be crucial to achieving the primary goal of the Indian Super League (ISPL), which is to identify and develop young cricket players using a tennis ball in a professional league structure.
As they begin this new relationship with the game, I wish them the very best! India Today cited Sachin Tendulkar as saying:.
He went on to say that he never considered playing tennis with the intention of representing his country. The 50-year-old continued by saying that he first played cricket with his brother’s team before advancing to the professional ranks.
“I always thought they were ten or twelve years older than me, but I could get by.” I became one of my age group’s primary batters and scored runs after participating in a few junior-level games.
The amazing thing was that, because season-ball cricket was not popular at the time, we never considered playing for India. But my adventure began when I played tennis ball cricket, since I was passionate about the game. The former cricket player continued, “Those 24 years of international cricket were genuinely beautiful, and it all started with a tennis ball.”
In the meantime, the committee also includes Suraj Samat, Amol Kale, Ravi Shastri, Ashish Shelar, and Sachin. Notably, the first round of games for the inaugural season is slated to take place in Mumbai from March 6 to March 15.
