The Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) has left no stone unturned in making the national team a dominant force globally. The Indian team won the Champions Trophy in October 2022 under the inspirational coaching of Dev Dutt and is now eyeing the T20 World Cup which is scheduled to be held in Qatar from December 1 to December 12.
In the same vein, the IDCA revealed a 15-man roster for the championship contest. Virender Singh will serve as the team’s captain, and all-rounder Sai Akash has been chosen to serve as vice-captain. With a pool of 25 players, the IDCA organized a five-day coaching session in Delhi from August 21 to August 25. One of the initial 26 players chosen for the camp had to withdraw owing to an injury. The participants’ performances were evaluated, and 15 players were chosen for the upcoming international competition.
The team is prepared for their next difficulties, according to head coach Dev Dutt, who also complimented chief selector Vinod Kumar Matta for his support. The former remarked that after defeating South Africa by 39 runs in the Champions Trophy final, the players had their sights set on the T20 World Cup
“The planning is going quite nicely. Vinod Kumar Matta, our head selector, has also been very helpful. The T20 World Cup is the ultimate goal. Our most recent goal is to win the World Cup for India, Dev remarked in a conversation with CricketNext after winning the Champions Trophy.

In the meantime, Gursharan Singh lauded the India team for continuously putting on strong performances and said the players don’t lack potential. The seasoned player sent them his best wishes for their impending World Cup run.
“It is a matter of pride and honor to play for India. I merely wish them luck and hope they can win the World Cup. They have been doing reasonably well for a while. They recently won a tri-nation series and the Champions Trophy. This group has a lot of talent, Gursharan added.
