The Indian players left Green Park, Kanpur on Tuesday, October 1, with the anticipation of winning another series at home. Bangladesh was positioned at 26/2, 26 runs behind India’s advantage after the first innings. Day 5 began with the overnight batters, Shadman Islam and Mominul Haque, the centurion of the first innings, coming out to bat in the middle.
With a commanding seven-wicket victory on Day 5, India easily secured full points from the two-match series against Bangladesh and solidified their leadership in the World Test Championship (WTC) rankings.
In the third over of the day, Mominul was dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin when his attempted sweep shot was collected by KL Rahul at leg slip. Shadman was joined in the middle by skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto, and together they played some counterattacking cricket to put up a partnership of 55 runs off of just 84 balls. But after trying a reverse sweep, Shanto got cleaned up, and Ravindra Jadeja ended the partnership. In the next over, India removed both of the set batsmen as Akash Deep took Shadman’s wicket. The latter, having reached his half-century, was out right away.
Bangladesh then progressed from 91/3 to 94/7 as Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan lost wickets quickly afterward. Mushfiqur Rahim, the final hitter from Bangladesh to leave the pitch, attempted to postpone the inevitable by scoring a hard-hitting 37 off 63 balls. The visitors were dismissed for 146 as Jasprit Bumrah claimed the final three Bangladeshi wickets, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, and Mushfiqur. Bumrah, Ashwin, and Jadeja each claimed three wickets, with Akash Deep contributing just one wicket.
India completes a clean sweep with to another daring half-century from Yashasvi Jaiswal.
India had two periods to complete the match, and they just needed 95 runs to win. In the third over, Mehidy removed Rohit from the game as the skipper of India holed out at deep backward square. Yashasvi Jaiswal carried on from where he had left off in the first innings, but Shubman Gill too fell cheaply. Together with Virat Kohli, Jaiswal scored 58 runs in just 67 balls, putting India in position to win the series. After just 43 balls, the former reached his second half-century in the Test match.

Ultimately, Jaiswal was dropped despite scoring an impressive 51 runs off of 45 deliveries. In the eighteenth over, Delhi cricketers Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli sent India packing with a spectacular boundary struck by the former off Taijul Islam.

Jadeja has gobbled up 2 left handers in 2.2 overs! So much for match ups!
BTW I know for a fact, Sachin found off spinners the least easy to play amongst all spinners.

Only 35 overs were bowled across the first 3 days. To get a win in the next 2 days Ind had to dismiss Ban, declare with a lead, dismiss Ban again, then chase the target. They did it with half a day to spare! Stand up & applaud the greatness 👏🏻👏🏻 #INDvBAN pic.twitter.com/x9SCceu9cy
