India vs. Australia: Virat Kohli continues to lead the active list of players with the most international centuries.

With a century against Australia in the fourth Border Gavaskar Trophy Test, 34-year-old Virat Kohli extended his record as the active batsman with the most hundreds. Kohli scored his 75th Test century and now ranks second among players with the most international centuries.

While Sachin Tendulkar leads the all-time list with 100 hundreds, Virat Kohli leads the active players with 75 centuries. With 45 international hundreds apiece, Joe Root and David Warner are tied for second place. Moreover, Kohli matched Brain Lara’s record of 24 hundreds scored when batting at No. 4 in Tests.

Though Kohli remains second on the list of cricketers with the most international centuries, he beat Tendulkar to become the quickest player to reach 75 international centuries. Tendulkar accomplished the mark in 566 innings, while Kohli accomplished it in 552 innings. Kohli also tied Sunil Gavaskar for the most Test hundreds scored against Australia by an Indian player.

Both Kohli and Gavaskar have scored eight hundreds against Australia in Tests, Tendulkar holds the record with eleven centuries. With his 28th Test century, Kohli eclipsed Mohammad Azharuddin, Virender Sehwag, and Dilip Vengsarkar to become India’s fourth-highest player in terms of home Test centuries. The positions occupied by Rahul Dravid, Gavaskar, and Tendulkar are third, second, and first, respectively.

Both Kohli and Steve Smith have scored eight hundreds in the history of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, tying them for first place on the list of active cricketers with the most centuries in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Tendulkar leads the chart with nine Test centuries in BGT, while Kohli, Smith, and Ricky Pointing share the second slot.
