During India’s essay with the bat in the third and final Twenty20 International (T20I) of the series against Bangladesh, complete chaos broke out in Hyderabad. Bangladesh was completely destroyed by an aggressive Indian batting team that had absolutely no mercy, making it the worst toss to lose.
Sanju Samson responded to his doubters, and in a great way! Just the beginning of his aggressive best was shown in the second over of the innings, when he hit Taskin Ahmed for as many runs as he gave up in his four-over stint in Delhi. Samson scored a half-century off of 22 balls in the over that followed the powerplay’s conclusion, but Rishad Hossain was only interested in that over. Samson quickly went from 62 to 92, but what really ignited the mayhem was his 30-run over off the leg-spinner. In what was a genuinely remarkable knock, he raised his maiden T20I tonne in 40 deliveries.
Another batter who proved himself capable of the job from the start was Suryakumar Yadav. From the way he batted, it was clear that the captain was at the top of his game. His goal was amply demonstrated by the way he continued to step on the pedal. Suryakumar’s innings stood out primarily for the way he destroyed Tanzim Hasan Sakib in the last powerplay over.
Eventually, the score was driven above 250 and even raised the possibility of India reaching 300 thanks to a belligerent 26-ball 70-run combination between Riyan Parag and Hardik Pandya. Although the hosts were three runs short of their target, the effort was nevertheless quite commendable.
With a quick shot that took Parvez Hossain Emon by surprise, Mayank Yadav got things going early. When they were at the crease, Tanzid Hasan and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto appeared still and uninspired. Litton Das, akin to Samson, greeted local body Nitish Kumar Reddy to the crease by spraying five boundaries; the distinction being that these were all boundaries.
With a well-earned half-century, middle-order batsman Towhid Hridoy tried his hardest to deliver a few hard blows. The way each team fielded the ball created a divisive contrast. Hridoy didn’t fail to capitalise, but Litton wasted his chance. He was the only batsman from the visiting side, aside from Litton, to end up with an undefeated 63* off 42 deliveries.

It was a dominant performance with the ball aside from Hardik and Reddy getting blasted during their respective three-over spells. Varun Chakravarthy, who finished his four-over period without picking up a wicket but was the highest wicket-taker from both teams in the 20-over category, put up another masterful performance. Upon his return to the team, Ravi Bishnoi made an impression by taking three wickets and bowling a maiden over. One of the Indian players who has been used the least during the series, Washington Sundar, contributed with a wicket in the one over he bowled.
