In the final dress rehearsal for the IND-SA Tri-Series, the rain was a major distraction

Due to the persistent rain, India’s match against South Africa, which was scheduled to take place before the Women’s T20I Tri-series summit match, was called off.

Both sides had already ensured their spot in the championship game on Thursday, so this encounter was essentially a dress rehearsal for them.

The match was two overs in to India’s innings when it was called off due to rain and could not be restarted. India had scored four runs without suffering a loss.

Jemimah Rodrigues hit a boundary off of Nonkululeko Mlaba to score the runs for India, while Smriti Mandhana had not yet opened her account after giving Shabnim Ismail a maiden in the opening over of the match.

After being absent for the first three games of the series, Shabnim returned for the fourth and final contest.

Pooja Vastrakar, an all-rounder seam bowler for India, was picked by Harmanpreet Kaur after the captain made the decision to bat, but the rain prevented her from making her first appearance since September.

India is currently undefeated after three matches, and on Monday, they will play West Indies in the fourth and final encounter of the group league. The Windies were unsuccessful in all three of their matches.

India Women are currently leading South Africa Women by four runs after two overs. No result.
