In the semifinal of the All-India Buchi Babu Invitation cricket event in Salem, Delhi defeated Chhattisgarh by a score of 78 runs.
Delhi will now compete against Madhya Pradesh in the competition’s final. Madhya Pradesh won its semifinal match against TNCA XI, advancing to the championship match.
On Day 1 of the match, Delhi batted first and achieved 277 runs in 87 overs while losing 6 wickets. Arpit Rana, who scored 51 runs off of 66 balls, proved crucial for the team. Vaibhav contributed a noteworthy knock of 42 off 95 deliveries as well. in the other side, Sumit Mathur made an impression with the bat in the opening day, scoring 52 from 77 balls. For Chhattisgarh, Vaibhav, Shubham Agarwal, and Ajay Mandal each claimed two wickets.
Delhi put up 340 runs before being bowled out for just 103 runs on the second day, continuing their dominance. Vaibhav scored 60 off 132 balls to get his half-century. The bowling attack of Chhattisgarh, led by Ajay Mandal and Shubham Agarwal, who combined for figures of 3/76, was also very important.
On Day 2, Chhattisgarh scored 182 runs while losing eight wickets. By scoring 42 and 40 runs, respectively, Shashank Chandrakar and Shahbaz Hussain were significant players. Hrithik Shokeen distinguished himself admirably with the ball and finished the day with three wickets for 45 runs.
On Day 3, Delhi’s bowling assault bowled Chhattisgarh out for 187 in 67.3 overs. Ajay Mandal scored a fifer as Delhi struggled in their second innings, reaching just 80 runs. Chhattisgarh began their 234-run pursuit and finished Day 3 at 121 for five. A 77-run partnership for the second wicket between Rishabh Tiwari (48) and Shashank Singh (48) enabled the team to reach 121 on the third day.
On Day 4, Chhattisgarh resumed their pursuit but were unable to reach 155 runs in 56.1 overs. On the fourth day, Pranshu Vijayran was crucial and finished with fantastic numbers (3/32). Yogesh Sharma, Shivank Vashisht, and Hrithik Shokeen each claimed two wickets during this time.
