The Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan, which has been eagerly anticipated by fans on both sides of the border, will take place soon. A group-stage matchup between the bitter rivals is scheduled to take place in Dubai on August 28. It is not uncommon for players to experience jitters in the lead up to a competition; however, the captain of the India team, Rohit Sharma, is working hard to ensure that a calm attitude is maintained among the squad. Ahead of the match, Rohit stated that the competition will undoubtedly be a high-pressure game; yet, in the grand scheme of things, Pakistan are “simply another adversary.”
“It should come as no surprise that the game is a lot of fun. Everyone is watching, but everyone is especially focused on India vs. Pakistan. Although it is undeniably a game with a lot of stakes, I believe that inside the team we should strive to maintain a relatively relaxed demeanour. We do not want to get too excited about this game, even amongst ourselves. But for us, it’s simply a game of cricket and a struggle between bat and ball that we have to win. Let the folks on the outside talk up the game; that’s their job to do “In an episode of ‘Follow The Blues’ on Star Sports, Rohit made the following statement.
“I believe it is important for us, me and Rahul bhai, to talk to these guys and let them know it is just another opposition we will be playing. This is especially true for the guys who have not played against them or have only played one to two games against them. For these players, it is also important for us to talk to these guys. It will be the same as any other match between India and Pakistan that we play for us; we will have to concentrate on the game at hand and on the things that are required of us as individuals “he added.
The most recent time India and Pakistan competed against one another, Babar Azam’s team from Pakistan emerged victorious in the Twenty20 World Cup.
