Mohammad Rizwan, the wicket-keeper batter for Pakistan, suffered a strain in his right leg while playing during Pakistan’s five-wicket victory over their fiercest rivals, India, in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup. On Monday, Rizwan is scheduled to have a precautionary MRI scan because of the injury.

According to Pakistani media, Rizwan suffered the injury when he attempted to receive a delivery from Mohammad Hasnain during India’s first innings and landed awkwardly on his right leg. This occurred during India’s first innings.

According to reports, the powerful batter, who is 30 years old and plays for Pakistan, was taken to a hospital shortly after Pakistan’s victory against India in the final over at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

Rizwan came out to open the batting despite his injury and hit a match-winning 71 off of 51 balls to assist Pakistan in chasing down India’s 181 for seven with five wickets in hand.

Rizwan was a part of the Pakistani team’s match-defining 73-run partnership for the third wicket, which allowed them to avenge their defeat at the hands of India in the group league stage.

Pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Wasim, and Shahnawaz Dahani have all been ruled out of the tournament due to fitness concerns, which has already hampered Pakistan’s chances in the competition.
