In the penultimate over of Friday’s T20 Blast match between Hampshire Hawks and Sussex at The Hove, a spectacular catch was made. Hampshire was in a precarious position, needing 23 runs off 11 deliveries. Benny Howell attempted to launch a long ball over the square leg barrier.
The connection was sweet and the ball appeared destined for six until Brad Currie appeared from nowhere and made a spectacular capture. Currie, 24, ran to his left and extended his left hand parallel to the ground to grasp the stun gun.

Royal Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik, who has made some spectacular catches himself, praised Brad Currie’s dazzling effort.
Karthik tweeted that the grab was one of the greatest catches in history. He also described the distance the juvenile travelled prior to catching the ball.
However, Currie did not only impress with his capture. He bowled superbly with the new ball, taking three wickets in the first four overs to reduce Hampshire to 24/4. In the end, the seamer concluded with three wickets and twenty-seven runs off four overs as Sussex defeated Hampshire by six runs while defending 183 runs. Currie was named the match’s Most Valuable Player.
