The SA20 league is quickly making its way up the rankings of most popular leagues. Due to the fact that it uses some of the best players in the world, the South African Twenty20 competition consistently delivers action that will take your breath away.
Jimmy Neesham, who plays for the Pretoria Capitals in the league, performed a one-handed stunner during the match against the Durban Super Giants, which caused the entire cricket world to be amazed.
While Neesham was fielding at point, he noticed that the ball arrived quite a ways off to his left. The all-rounder from New Zealand performed an incredible diving effort and grasped the ball with one hand to complete the dismissal.
Wian Mulder, the hitter for Durban, couldn’t believe his good fortune when he saw that Neesham had completed the catch. His reaction summed up everything perfectly.
Neesham commented that despite the fact that this is the first season of the SA20 league, he gets the impression that the competition is similar to the Indian Premier League.
“Yeah, everything has been wonderful.
There have been some really wonderful audiences and some pretty incredible atmospheres throughout the tournament, which is obviously a fantastic competition. Because of the entire thing, the feeling has been amazing. Therefore, up to this point, I’ve had a lot of fun with it.
We’ve only covered approximately half of the material, so here’s hoping that it continues to deliver over the next couple of weeks,” he remarked in a conversation with SA20.
“In some ways, it reminds me of the Indian Premier League. “I’ve been incredibly impressed by the quality of the local South African players as well as the quality of the four abroad players on each side,” he added. “The four overseas players and every team are obviously really high quality.”
Neesham also explained how the Pretoria Capitals deal with the pressure of games and how they respond to the results of those games. He said, “Just about being as level headed as we can I think you know, we know what the quality of teams in this tournament you’re not going to go out and blow teams off the park and win every game.”
Therefore, we were not overly discouraged by the performance that took place the day before.
It’s like a couple of really fantastic innings from a couple of extremely high-class players, like Jos Buttler and David Miller, and you know that this happens every now and then and in installments, but the level of players is higher, so we haven’t altered a whole lot heading into this game. Just go back out there and try to do a little bit better than we did the day before.
