In response to worries over a lean patch, Virat Kohli said, “You can’t run this far…”

After having some time off, India’s Virat Kohli will get back into the game for the Asia Cup and will be looking to rediscover his form during the competition.

When India begin their campaign in the Asia Cup on August 28 against Pakistan, all eyes will be on Virat Kohli to lead the team to victory. In more recent years, the former captain of India has repeatedly fallen short of displaying the same level of consistency that he was known for in his earlier career.

Kohli’s current form has been everything but satisfying, despite the fact that he has not scored a century since November of this year (2019). In each of the three scoring formats, he did not have a particularly successful Tour of England. He was taken out of action for the tour of the West Indies as well as the match against Zimbabwe, but he is expected to return for the Asia Cup.

Kohli was candid about his challenges in the run-up to the continental competition. “I am aware of the current state of my game, and it is impossible to advance this far in an international career without the capacity to adapt to a variety of conditions, situations, and bowling styles. Consequently, this is a phase that is simpler for me to go through, but I don’t want to put it in the past just yet “According to Star Sports, Kohli was quoted as saying.

“I want to get knowledge from it, and I also want to gain an understanding of the fundamental principles that guide both my behaviour as a sportsperson and my behaviour as a human being. As long as I continue to check off those boxes, I am aware that there will be highs and lows, and as I emerge from this period, I will have a better idea of how consistent I can be.

My experiences hold a holy place in my heart. Whatever it is that I am going through right now or that I have gone through in the past, I can say with absolute certainty that I have never respected who I am as a person more than I do now.”

In the United Arab Emirates, the Asia Cup will get underway on August 27, and the championship match will take place on September 11.
