Rachin Ravindra was selected by the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL auction following an outstanding season for New Zealand in the ODI World Cup 2023. But, given how impressive Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad were in the previous competition, his place in the starting XI wasn’t assured. Ravindra, a Kiwi international, took advantage of the opportunity to make his debut by hammering 83 runs at a whooping strike rate of 237.14 in two matches after Conway was ruled out for the first part of the season.
Rachin Ravindra talked about his experience thus far at the CSK camp and said that everyone on the team is incredibly friendly and eager to help, making it simple to get along with them. He continued by saying that it was easy for him because players like MS Dhoni, Stephen Fleming, and the recently chosen captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, were always available for a conversation. The child added that the lack of hierarchy at the CSK camp contributed to the “more chill” atmosphere.

It was quite unique. I believe that as we were watching the auction, I had calls from Dave (Devon Conway), messages from Santner, and, of course, Flem (Fleming) as soon as the signing by CSK happened. That’s fantastic because many of the guys—not just the ones from abroad but also the Indian guys—are really kind guys.
When Rachin Ravindra moved to Chennai, India Today cited him as saying, “So it’s very easy to get along with people in a team like this.”
“It stems from players being at ease, understanding their responsibilities, and having a laid-back atmosphere, which helps everyone feel a little more at ease and get along a little better. It doesn’t feel like a hierarchy because you can always have a nice conversation with Flem if you want to, or with Hussey, or with MS Dhoni, or with Rutu,” the 24-year-old continued.
In the meantime, CSK has won both of their IPL 2024 games. They first triumphed over Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets, then at MA Chidambaram Stadium, they beat Gujarat Titans.
