Imran Khan, a former cricket player for Pakistan, has been detained since August 2023. The former prime minister of Pakistan was convicted in four of the more than 150 cases in which he was prosecuted, resulting in one of the harshest prison terms to date—nine years. The political group Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), led by the 71-year-old, was about to be disbanded following his sentencing.
Imran will use an online voting system to run for chancellor of Oxford University in the United Kingdom while incarcerated, according to a report from Hindustan Times. Remarkably, the previous captain of the World Cup is an Oxford University alumnus, having studied politics and economics there in 1972 at Keble College. During his college years, he even captained Oxford’s cricket team.
“Imran Khan will run for Oxford University chancellor because the general public feels he should.” Sayed Zulfi Bukhari, the counsellor to Khan, said.

India is unlikely to visit Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy
Regarding the Pakistan cricket team, the Men-In-Green have performed poorly in the most recent ICC competitions.
