The ILT20’s second season is set, and as the competition draws near, new regulations have been unveiled for the 2018 season. Among them, the super-sub’s insertion is the most well-liked. The 2019 ILT20 season will also have super subs, much like the Impact Player role in the IPL 2023.
From a list of seven names that clubs must submit with their playing XI, the super-sub must be named right away following the toss. The league administration confirmed that the event will take place in the United Arab Emirates starting on January 13, 2024.
Additionally, the super-sub may be used at any point following the opening of the game or even at the beginning of the second inning. The competition has also mandated that every franchise’s starting lineup have a minimum of two players from the United Arab Emirates at all times.
The following season will have a penalty for a slow overrate.
In addition, along with the ICC competitions and other T20 leagues worldwide, the ILT20 has established a penalty for sluggish overrates. Following a rule change, only four fielders are now allowed to cross the 30-yard line if the bowling team is over the cut-off time.
Three overs behind will result in a financial penalty of five percent of the match fee per over, in addition to the restriction of three fielders to the outfield. For two overs behind, only three fielders are permitted to stand outside the 30-yard circle.
The six franchises will be eager to play to the best of their abilities and win the coveted title as the event draws near. After defeating the Desert Vipers in the summit match of the inaugural tournament, the Gulf Giants will be the defending champions. It will be intriguing to watch whether the team advances further in 2024.
