Each batsman will have a strategy in place: Rahul Dravid
Team India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, revealed the batsmen’s strategy ahead of the series against South Africa in an exclusive interview with Follow the Blues LIVE on Star Sports. He stated, “So, it is a challenging place to bat; the statistics will tell you that.” It’s one of the harder spots to bat in, particularly up in Johannesburg and Centurion.
The wickets do have a tendency to move around a little bit and to rise and fall. Each batsman will have a strategy for how they want to go; as long as they are committed to it, are clear about it, and are working towards it, that is acceptable. Not everyone is expected to play in the same manner. We want them to be able to execute what works for them after they have a good understanding of it.
When the boys are on the field, a lot of it is mental, and we want to emphasize that if we do get rolling and have the chance to get set, they attempt to make it a contribution that wins the game.”
