The only two constants in the 16-year history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) are Virat Kohli of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Both cricket players have a devoted fan base and are admired by many aspiring athletes in the nation. However, both teams have won very different numbers of IPL championships.
RCB has not yet won a championship, while Dhoni has led CSK to four victories. However, RCB has reached the finals three times, but each time came in second place.
Wasim Akram, a former captain of Pakistan, was asked, “What if Dhoni was the captain of RCB?” during a conversation with Sportskeeda. He responded that Dhoni would have helped RCB win three championships. He added that although Kohli has been with the RCB from the start of the IPL, they have not yet won a championship. Notably, the RCB team picked Faf du Plessis as their new leader after Kohli resigned as captain prior to the 2022 IPL season.
Three titles would have been won by RCB, according to the statement. They have a big fan base and Virat Kohli, the greatest player of the current era. Since the IPL began, he has been with the RCB. But regrettably, they did not receive the trophy. If Dhoni had been the RCB captain, he would have guided them to a championship, according to Akram, who spoke to Sportskeeda.
Akram said he has no idea where Kohli failed as the RCB captain because he is a very hard-working boy when asked where he fell short. The former India captain, according to him, may be more concerned with the national team than the IPL franchise. The 34-year-old batter is doing lot better, according to him, and seems to be enjoying his game.
“I’m not sure why he lags. He works incredibly hard for his age. Perhaps he was too focused on Indian cricket, and sometimes in the IPL, captaincy weighs on you. He is therefore better off staying put. He is doing much better and appears to be having fun with the game, the speaker continued.
Akram Akram went on to remark that Dhoni is a captain who inspires confidence in his team since he has the habit of leading by example. The 56-year-old claims that Kohli finally acquired the habit as well. He lauded Dhoni, saying that he is a leader who gives his players confidence.
And Dhoni has the habit, if we’re talking about him. due to the habit of becoming a captain. It eventually even came to Virat. His lack of inner peace does not show on his face. However, the athlete is aware of who occasionally gets yelled at or given a pat on the back. Dhoni is therefore a captain who inspires confidence in his team, Akram said.
